It is often important for ventures to adopt technologies that are flexible, adaptable, and suitable for distributed activity. The Grameen-Danone partnership developed micro yoghurt plants (in spite of the initial scepticism of the machine designers) that enabled easy access to the women distributing the yoghurt to the villagers, and which avoided the high costs of refrigeration.
